New IMMN Board Member: Michelle Bauer, President & Chief Strategist, Common Language

Michelle BauerThe IMMN Board is pleased to announce the addition of Michelle Bauer, President & Chief Strategist of Common Language, a St. Petersburg, FL-based public relations and strategic communications firm.

Michelle’s career spans over twenty years and includes business to consumer, business to business, and nonprofit expertise. She has led marketing, communications, research, and conference development initiatives for a variety of clients in the technology, healthcare, design, education, and consumer products industries. Clients include Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Ringling College of Art and Design, M2Gen, Tampa Bay Technology Forum, Haneke Design, Bisk Education, Skyway Capital Partners, Creative Sign Designs, Catalina Marketing, and many others.

Prior to founding Common Language, Michelle was a partner with Sextant Marketing Group, where she directed the firm’s strategic consulting and communications practices. From 2001 – 2004, she served as founding Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum, a professional association dedicated to growing Tampa Bay’s technology businesses and promoting the region as a major center of entrepreneurship and innovation. During her tenure, the organization grew from zero to nearly 300 member companies that collectively employ thousands of professionals in the region’s technology and business communities.

Always active in non-profit organizations, Michelle co-founded two of them and is active in many others. Together with Deanne Roberts, former Chair of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and current Chair of ChappellRoberts, she co-founded CreativeTampaBay, a nonprofit organization designed to fuel the region’s creative industry growth by acting as a catalyst for the technology, arts, culture, science, and business communities. In 2009, she co-founded SciFlies.org, an initiative designed to help advance scientific research by connecting donors with scientists directly. She currently serves on the Leadership Council of The Community Foundation of Greater St. Petersburg, the Dean’s Advisory Council for the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg College of Business, the Board of Directors of Forward Thinking Initiatives, and the Board of Governors of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.

Michelle has co-developed, launched, and produced several influential business conferences this decade, including the Creative Cities Summit, The Florida Tech Transfer Conference, the Sarasota International Design Summit, and the Florida Boomer Lifestyle Conference.

Michelle holds Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in English from the University of South Florida.

IMMN added to Boomer Authority Radio Network

The International Mature Marketing Network (IMMN) radio channel has been added to the Boomer Authority Radio Network (BARN) website. Boomer Authority has made IMMN their featured network.

The first two hosts to be placed under the IMMN channel are Brent Green host of Generation Reinvention and Sandra Levitin host of Kalon Women in Business Blog Talk Radio (both already syndicated by BARN).

New IMMN Board Member: Anne Holmes, Boomer in Chief, National Association of Baby Boomer Women

Anne HolmesThe IMMN Board is pleased to announce the addition of Anne L. Holmes, ‘Boomer in Chief’ of the National Association of Baby Boomer Women, an organization whose goals are to enlighten, educate and empower its members, women of the Baby Boomer Generation.

Trained as a marketer, with a Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Anne spent her early years working at advertising agencies in the Midwest, and started her own firm, Anne Holmes & Associates (AHA) in 1994 with the goal of specializing in the use of interactive technology as a tool to help to solve client marketing problems. With personal strengths in strategic planning, public relations, marketing, advertising and business development, as well as a good ear and an empathetic heart, Anne focused on business development and executive training. Her areas of expertise: Branding and identity, using web-based tools for research and marketing, Web 2.0, social marketing, internet marketing, marketing, advertising, public relations.

More recently Anne has worked as a business development coach, training clients of internationally known marketers. She coached fellow Boomers, most of them downsized and outsourced executives, on how to build profitable ‘2nd Act’ businesses that not only support their dreams but also allow them to leave a lasting legacy. Recently, she and best–selling author Ronda Del Boccio published a book through Amazon’s Kindle program, titled How to Release the Brakes & Achieve Your Breakthrough NOW! 23 Time-Proven Secrets Guaranteed to Activate Your Success Breakthrough for Baby Boomer Entrepreneurs & Business Owners.

In early 2010, Anne and her partner, bought the NABBW and its forum site, BoomerWomenSpeak, from founder Dotsie Bregel. Later that year she launched a major update of the NABBW web site. Both sites are top-ranked by search engines on a number of the keywords relating to ‘baby boomer women’. Prior to acquiring the NABBW properties in 2010, Anne and her partner launched an online marketing firm, BoomerCo, Inc., with the goal of providing online publishing solutions for ‘Boomers, bloggers and business’. They became interested in promoting blogging as a business development tool after Anne found success with her own blog, BoomerLifestyle.com.

An accredited public relations practitioner, Anne has served in a leadership role with many professional and public service organizations, including a three–year stint on the national board for PRSA, the Public Relations Society of America. She also worked as an adjunct professor of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations for a number of colleges in the Midwest. Anne and her partner also own several other Boomer–focused websites.

New IMMN Board Member: Brent Green, Marketing Communication Strategist & Author, Brent Green & Associates

Brent GreenThe IMMN Board is pleased to announce the addition of Brent Green, a marketing communication strategist, creative director, copywriter, author, speaker, trainer and consultant with focus on generational marketing. He is author of Marketing to Leading-Edge Baby Boomers: Perceptions, Principles, Practices, Predictions.

Established in 1986 and located in Denver, Brent Green & Associates, Inc. is an internationally award-winning firm that develops integrated marketing communication programs with emphasis on direct response media, integrated sales promotions, marketing public relations, and senior executive training. His firm has received more than 50 regional, national, and international awards for creative excellence, including the Direct Marketing Association’s International Gold Echo Award.

A Colorado resident since 1981, Brent has served in a leadership capacity with many professional and public service organizations, including as board member for ten years and chairman of the Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau; board member for Junior Achievement Rocky Mountain, Inc.; and as programming vice president for the Business Marketing Association and the Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association. He is the tenth recipient of the Direct Marketer of the Year award from the Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association.

Brent has published two books in the last year. Generation Reinvention examines how Boomers are changing business, marketing, aging and the future. About one-third of the book addresses marketing to Baby Boomer men. Noble Chaos, a literary novel, recounts the defining years of this generation during the Vietnam War era as told from a college student perspective.

Dr. Fitzgerald, now retired, served on the faculty at The College of New Jersey, The University of the Arts and Immaculata University. He was chosen for the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2007 from East Carolina University.

Dr. Fitzgerald, an organizational consultant, provides workshops on Organizational Dialogue, Focused Conversation and the Change Theory with a focus is on social change in the 21st Century.
